Women’s League: Saint-Amand – Landerneau Bretagne Basket: 88-72
Very difficult trip for Landerneau on northern soil with a team that wanted to offer, finally, a victory on its floor to its loyal supporters. It was the Amandinoises who got off to the best start through Limouzyn and Kucowski (6-0, 3′), before a Breton reaction through Macquet and Dongue (6-6.3′). The game was launched on good tracks with rhythm and commitment. There, Saint-Amand put the cover back: 15-6, (8′) then 21-14 (10′). After the mini-rest the game was evenly balanced: (23-23, 13′), but once again the Green Girls regained the upper hand through Slonjsak and Chidow, forcing Wani Muganguzi to take a second time out in order to break the game northerner: (31-23.15′). In vain, because the Bretons were behind by nine points at rest (45-36).
Unrewarded efforts
A first half dominated by the Amandinoises but there was time to turn things around. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out, Saint-Amand continuing to prove quite effective (55-41, 25′). Landerneau was going to have to show something else if he didn’t want to experience major setbacks, but it didn’t come the way (65-49, 30′). Breton affairs were getting tougher and victory had apparently already chosen its side (73-51, 33′). Finally, despite his courage and selflessness Landerneau lost 88-72. A sad defeat for the future, especially if the two formations especially sir the two teams find themselves in play-downs.
