Bundesliga club Hertha BSC has loaned right-back Deyovaisio Zeefuik to Italy until the end of the season. As the club announced on its website on Monday, Zeefuik is moving to Hellas Verona and could stay there beyond the summer. According to the announcement, the Serie A club has a purchase option.
35 games in two and a half years for the pros
“Deyo (editor’s note: Zeefuik) approached us with the request for a change in order to gain more match practice. With this loan including a purchase option, we have found a sensible model for all sides,” Hertha’s managing director Sport Fredi said quoted Bobic.
The 24-year-old Zeefuik moved from Groningen to Berlin in the summer of 2020, according to the industry portal transfermarkt.de for around 4 million euros. He was never really convincing in Berlin, Zeefuik only played 35 games for the Hertha professionals, plus one game for the regional league team. It is already his second loan, in January 2022 Zeefuik left Hertha for six months, but then he returned after his trip to Blackburn Rovers (England). This time could be the final separation.
