VfB Stuttgart would like to sign Josuha Guilavogui, the Frenchman is in agreement with the Swabians and wants to change, now the Swabians and VfL Wolfsburg have to find an agreement. “In the end,” said VfL managing director Jörg Schmadtke to kicker on Sunday, “all three parties must be satisfied.” And that is likely to happen in the coming week. “We’re not making this a permanent issue,” explains Schmadtke, “it will be decided in the coming week.” Wolfsburg apparently still wants a fee in the range of one million euros.

Schmadtke confirms the change request and talks

There has been movement in poker over the past week. Guilavogui went to his employer and submitted his change request. “He told us that Stuttgart is a serious option for him and that he would like to do it,” said Schmadtke. “The way Josh did it, that’s how it should be.” And talks and negotiations are also now underway between VfL and VfB, confirms the VfL manager.

Guilavogui was in coach Niko Kovac’s squad for VfL’s triumphant 6-0 win over SC Freiburg on Saturday, who would like to keep the substitute central defender. The 32-year-old was not substituted on. It could have been the last home game for the former VfL captain, who is ready to trade the battle for international ranks with Wolfsburg for a relegation battle in Stuttgart. VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth says: “We will only make transfers if we are convinced and if the sporting and economic framework fit together.” That’s what it’s all about in the coming days.
