Girgenson’s activity is not enough – “Sabres” remain “dry” against Tortorella’s team (VIDEO)

The Buffalo Sabers team represented by Latvian forward Zemgus Girgensons experienced a “dry” loss in the National Hockey League (NHL) match on Monday. “Sabres” recognized the superiority of Philadelphia “Flyers” at home with the result 0:4 (0:3, 0:0, 0:1).

In the third minute of the match, after the Sabers lost the puck in their defensive zone, Zach McEwen made it 1-0 for the Flyers from in front of the goal. In the second half of the period, in less than a minute and a half, Joel Fereby with a shot from the middle of the zone and Noah Cattis strengthened the “Flyers” lead after another puck lost by the “Sabres” hockey players.

The last time the visitors stood out was in the second minute of the third period, when Wayd Allison successfully played in front of the goal. John Tortorella’s 23-year-old goalie Samuel Ehrson went undefeated for the first time in his fifth career NHL game with 28 saves. Craig Anderson made 34 of 38 shots.

Girgenson spent 12 minutes and seven seconds on the ice in this duel, 45 seconds of which he played in the minority. The Latvian shot at the goal three times, used one power play, blocked one shot and had a negative efficiency coefficient of -1. This season, Girgenson has scored four goals, six assists and a neutral utility ratio in 37 matches.

“Sabres” with 42 points in 38 matches are in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, where “Flyers” are in 14th position with 39 points in 41 matches. Buffalo hockey players will fight Seattle Kraken at home on Tuesday.
