Julien Brun: “Prague, my new balance”

At 30, Julien Brun spent his first season on the DP World Tour last year. If the French ended his year in 80th place in the Race, the former amateur world number 3 above all found a new balance in Prague. It was in the Czech capital that the Habs rebuilt themselves and found their way to the DP World Tour.

We find Julien in the heart of Prague. T-shirt and sweater on the shoulders, the Frenchman strolls through the streets of the capital. We discover the Charles Bridge, the small streets and the typical trams, red and beige. ” I really love walking around Prague, strolling. It is a fairly large city but which remains on a human scale. There, we are in the old town and just opposite there is the park of the Strahov Monastery where we have superb views of Prague. Even though I live there, I am amazed. I also love going to see ice hockey. Here, with football, it is the national sport. »

“I’m starting to find the right rhythm”

At the bend of a cobbled street, the former amateur world No. 3 explains his choice. ” This is especially thanks to my fiancée, Simona; she is slovak. Slovakia and the Czech Republic are two neighboring countries. We met in the United States, at university ten years ago and when we returned from the United States we moved in together in France; but it wasn’t going very well. She was not very happy. His work gave him the opportunity to come to Prague. »

Fresh out of a physio session, Julien looks at his watch. Expected at the dentist, he looks at the tram timetables. ” Whether in training or during off times, you have to find the right balance between recovering well and taking time for yourself, for your body, to recharge the batteries. I’m still learning about it, but I think I’m starting to find the right rhythm. »
