Friday 20 January, at 21, Steve Wynn returns to Catania, from Zō Centro Culture Contemporanee, a piece of rock history of the last 40 years (Dream Syndicate, Gutterball, The Baseball Project, Minus 5 his most important projects), on tour these days in Italy in acoustic only.
The Catania date is the only Sicilian of the Los Angeles guitarist and singer’s Solo Acoustic Tour.

Apart from the inevitable references to the Dream Syndicate repertoireone of the main bands of the Paisley Underground scene (the 80s scene that combined classic psychedelia with a drier look son of late 70s punk), released last year with the new album “Ultraviolet Battle Hymns And True Confessions”, the concert will be mainly dedicated to Wynn’s acoustic work, entitled “Solo Acoustic Vol.1” of 2020, the first unplugged solo work recorded in forty years of career.
«Despite 40 years of solo touring around the world, I had never released a record just me and my acoustic guitar. I had thought about it a lot and the fans who came to these intimate, stripped-down shows often ended up walking up to the merchandise booth and asking, “Which of these records sound like the show you just played?”
The main source of inspiration was Bill Callahan, the main exponent of the scene lo-fi, so much so that he chose the same recording studio (in Austin, Texas) and producer (Brian Beattie).
The beacons remain the immortal Lou Reed and Velvet Underground buddy John Cale.

14 of these tracks ended up on the album. After the Italian tour Wynn will return to the UK in March on tour with Dream Syndicate who celebrate 40 years of their debut album “The Days of Wine and Roses” with a celebratory 4-CD box set.
In the meantime he has recorded an album with the Baseball Project that will be released in June and will tour with them in the summer. And rumors speak of a new solo album.
