Ferro got his first win in the championship

The Puerto Madryn team defeated El Biguá 86-90 in their visit to Neuquén for the Southern division of the Federal League. The “Maquinita” was able to recover after the failed debut against Roca.

Biguá, at the beginning of their second participation in the Federal League, could not impose their game and the local team, and lost without extenuating against Ferrocarril de Puerto Madryn.

The scorers of the match for the locals were Santiago Pascual (22), Francisco Michelli (16) and Leo Rodríguez and Agustín Samaniego with 15. As for the visitor, the gunner was his number ten, Lautaro García (29), in the end , the MVP of the match. Neither did Carlos Altamirano (22) and Nicolás Crausaz (14) out of tune.

The first quarter was very fought over, in which both teams went from less to more. With a very good performance from Pascual, a good entry from Nahuel Muñoz and a bomb of 3 against Michelli’s buzzer to close the fourth, the locals had the score in their favor (30-26) at the end of the first 10 minutes.

In the second quarter everything was going to change, Biguá had a terrible start, since in 5 minutes of play they did not score points. Very erratic with his free throws and an effectiveness that he would later end up regretting: 46% (11-24), against 75% for Ferro (25-32). Ferro proposed a tougher game and ended up controlling the second period to his liking, despite the fact that Biguá finished only 4 points down (43-47).

At the start of the second half, the “Maquinita” could not control the advantage they had on the board and Biguá was able to tie the game through a very good moment from Leo Rodríguez, who made an incredible dunk, and an impressive three-point bomb from Samaniego , which left things the same at 64.

In the last quarter, Biguá was not fine with his shots and Ferro had a great percentage of effectiveness in his shots. A very tough quarter, stick by stick, and a game that ended up leading Ferro with attitude and good defense by 90-86.

Those led by Mauricio Santangelo started off on the wrong foot at home, they must make a “clean slate”, and next week they will face Los Zorros. On the visitor’s side, they were able to recover from last Sunday’s defeat against Club Social y Deportivo Roca and the next date will be on Sunday, February 5 when they host Unión de Río Colorado.
