Everton announce Frank Lampard’s departure due to poor results – Everton

Frank Lampard left the technical command of Everton, due to the bad results, a year after taking over the helm of the main team, informed the current 19th place in the English League.

“Everton Football Club can confirm that Frank Lampard has stepped down as senior men’s first team coach today. Joe Edwards, Paul Clement, Ashley Cole and Chris Jones have also left the club. Alan Kelly will remain as goalkeeper coach,” the toffees wrote in a statement.

Everton also regrets that recent results and the current position in the championship “force such a difficult decision to be taken”, adding that Paul Tait and Leighton Baines will lead the team until a new coach is appointed.

Lampard, 44, arrived at Goodison Park in January 2022 to replace Spaniard Rafa Benítez, even managing to avoid relegation last season.

However, the defeat at the weekend, in London, at West Ham’s ground (2-0), for the 21st round of the Premier League, turned out to be the last straw for the former international in the selection of the three lions.

The Merseyside emblem, in which the Portuguese Rúben Vinagre plays, has not won the championship since October 22, the day they beat Crystal Palace (3-0). Since then, they have eight defeats and two draws in all competitions.
