Borussia Dortmund has moved up to three points from leaders Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.

BVB celebrated a 2-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the 18th round on Sunday evening and improved to fourth place.

Ex-Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi initiated the win with his first goal in the German top flight in the 33rd minute. A Tapsoba own goal shortly after the break made the decision.

While Dortmund’s title dreams are revived, the Werkself from Leverkusen are ten points behind BVB in ninth place in the table.

Schalke ends series of bankruptcies

Two points behind in twelfth place is 1. FC Köln, who also survived the third game in 2023 unbeaten. However, the billy goats were not completely satisfied this time, especially since they had to settle for a zero number at bottom Schalke 04. The Gelsenkirchner stopped a series of three defeats in a row and were generally the slightly better team. The distance to the relegation place or the non-relegation zone is six points after the first game of the second half of the season.

Sunday’s results:

Schalke – Cologne 0-0

Leverkusen – Dortmund 0:2
Tore: 0:1 Adeyemi (33.), 0:2 Eigentor Tapsoba (53.)
