No respite in Qatar. With the fires of the World Cup just extinguished, the Gulf state is switching to its next major meeting on the international sports calendar: the world judo championships, scheduled for May 7 to 14, 2023 at the Ali bin Hamad Al- Attiyah Arena in Doha. The organizers unveiled the competition’s logo and visual identity last weekend. They reflect “gaming culture and urban development in the city of Doha“. The concept of “marque” of the 2023 Worlds is inspired by the letter “D”, the first letter of Doha, but also a symbol of “skills and movements of judo.“The logo combines the words judo and Doha, which can be read both vertically and horizontally. Doha will succeed as host city of the Judo Worlds to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, where the event was held in 2022.
