Depo defeated Ferro de Puerto Madryn 70-60 at the Gimena Padin sports center. He made the difference in the first half, managed it in the second half and ended up celebrating in front of his people.
The team led by Sebastián García had a good start, they took the first quarter 18-6, had their best moment of the night in the second segment and went into the long break winning by 20 points (41-21) and entered the last quarter with an advantage of 16 units (57-41).
The “orange” was supported by the good society that Agustín Sánchez put together (17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals) and the rookie Samuel Diez (14 units and 11 recoveries), plus the contributions of Fernando Margosa (11), Emmanuel Kloster (8 and 7 rebounds) and the task of the experienced Adolfo Garcia Barros (4 and 8 rebounds). Lautaro Garcia (22 points and 7 rebounds) and Carlos Altamirano (19 and 11 recoveries) stood out on the visit.
Depo, with Sánchez and Diez (10 points between them), took the first difference, dominated the rebounding fight (49-32 overall, taking 22 offensive), won defense and got away. At the start of the second quarter, they went up 23-6 and finished the initial stage winning comfortably: 41-21.
At halftime, 30 years after the remembered title in the 1992/1993 National Promotion Tournament and promotion to the Superior tournament of the National Basketball League, there was a treat for leaders who worked at that stage and also for Mario Spada, former coach of Depo and assistant in that campaign of Pablo Coleffi.
In the third quarter, Ferro reacted, scored a 14-4 run and was 10 (45-35), but the “orange” stepped on the accelerator again and won the game, despite the fact that in the second stage he no longer had the first half effectiveness.
The visit did not lower its arms, but Deportivo Roca always responded and closed its debut in the best way.
