Carragher against Cucurella: “Su precio…”

Potter’s Chelsea does not come back and yesterday they lost again at home against the City of Guardiola. The Spanish coach had clear ideas in attack and most of the plays that his team tried were always by the band that Cucurella defended. Guardiola exploited that band, since he believed that it was the best way to create danger for a Chelsea that ended up losing and is lost in the middle of the table.

After the match, the former star of English football, Carragher, charged against the Spanish full-back: “I was not happy with Cucurella throughout the second half until he came out. When we talk about the price… If someone doesn’t want to defend, it’s actually worse. It seemed to me that he didn’t want to defend in one-on-one situations. When I see defenders constantly throwing themselves at him all the time and the guy keeps passing it makes me think they don’t want to defend. Duck and twist and twist and burn those legs. Sometimes you think ‘I can win the ball, I can go get it’, but when that’s your plan against every winger that comes up against you, it can’t be right.

Shield/Team Flag

Cucurella is a fixture on the left side for Potter, but the results are not keeping up with the confidence that the coach is giving him and his signing is already being questioned. Chelsea paid 60 million for the Spanish and at the moment they are not managing to prove it on the green. The side will have to continue working to change this opinion.
