Briton Mark Ceban and Russian Anna Pushkareva win the 41st edition of Les Petits As

Les Petits As, the unofficial Under-14 World Championship, which revealed some Grand Slam winners, including Rafael Nadal, delivered its verdict on Sunday.

The young Briton Mark Ceban (13 years old) won the boys’ tournament by dominating his opponent of the day, Daniel Jade, a Lebanese player recently naturalized in France, in two sets (6-3, 6-2) in the boys’ final of the Petits As tournament, Sunday in Tarbes. He is the first Briton in twenty-five years, and Matthew Smith’s victory, to win it.

A Frenchman crowned in doubles

Among the girls, Anna Pushkareva, seeded n°5 won in two sets (7-5, 6-1) against the Romanian Giula Popa. After a close first set that lasted fifty-two minutes, she finally rolled out in the second in front of nearly 3,000 spectators.

Note among the boys the success of the Frenchman Moïse Kouamé in doubles alongside the Slovenian Svit Suljic against the Czech pair Krejci-Kusy (6-7 [6]6-4, 10-3).
