Brentford – Liverpool 3:1, Liverpool started the new year in the English league with a defeat

Brentford took the lead in the 19th minute after an own goal by Ibrahim Konate. The home team’s second goal was disallowed due to offside after the intervention of the video referee in the 40th minute, but Yoane Wissa got the ball into the goal again after two minutes and this time adjusted the score to 2:0. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s men gave hope after the break thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s strike, but in the 84th minute Brian Mbeumo calmed the home team down again.

Liverpool lost for the first time after four wins. The last time he had to suffer defeat was on October 29 in a duel with Leeds.
