Bayern drop points in the first game after the break

The first German Bundesliga game after the winter break between Bayern Munich and Leipzig ended in a draw on Friday. The match in Leipzig ended with the result 1:1 (0:1).

In connection with the World Cup final tournament, the Bundesliga went on winter break already before the middle of November after the 15th round of matches. On Friday, the championship race resumed with the duel between the leader “Bayern” and the third place holder “Leipzig”.

In the 30th minute of the game, due to the situation at the back, Leon Goreckas’ goal was not counted, but seven minutes later, the Bavarians made it 1-0. After Serge Gnabry’s pass from the left side to the far post, Eric Maxims Šupo-Moting made a precise shot surrounded by three opponents. At the beginning of the second half, in the 52nd minute, Dominik Soboslai made a header after Andre Silva’s pass, whose flight direction was corrected by Marcel Halstenberg in front of the goal – 1:1.

Bayern goalkeeper Jan Sommer, signed this week from Borussia Mönchengladbach, was entrusted with the safety of the goal, with Sven Ulreich on the bench. Manuel Neuer, the main goalkeeper of the Munich team, suffered a serious injury while resting in the mountains after the World Cup final, which has ended his season.

With 35 points in 16 games, “Bayern” occupies the first place in the tournament table, five points ahead of “Freiburg”, which played 15 matches. “Leipzig” players have one less point.
