Alpine skiing: Marco Odermatt wins the 1st round, Loïc Meillard in 3rd place

Marco Odermatt won the 1st round of the Adelboden giant. The Nidwalden was ahead of the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen by 32 hundredths. For his part, Loïc Meillard took a fine 3rd place, 0.49 behind his teammate. Justin Murisier was unfortunately eliminated in the final wall. See you at 1:30 p.m. on RTS2 for the 2nd course.

I hope we can sign the double” noted Marco Odermatt, referring to the provisional 3rd place of Loïc Meillard. In search of a 1st giant podium this season, the skier from Hérémence will have a good card to play on the second route.

Marco Odermatt is aiming for a 14th consecutive podium as a giant, if we include his Olympic title in Beijing 2022, and a 17th victory in the World Cup. He left all his other rivals over a second behind, making the difference on the bottom of the course.

Six Swiss qualified in the 2nd round

Fourth, the French Alexis Pinturault thus lost 1”19 on the winner of the last big Crystal Globe, while the Austrian Manuel Feller is 5th at 1”31. Convincing 6th, the Grison Gino Caviezel for his part dropped 1”58.

Thomas Tumler (17th at 2”82, with bib 45), Fadri Janutin (20th at 3”25) and Daniele Sette (27th at 3”89) are the other Swiss to have won their ticket for the 2nd round .
