The situation of the many injured at the CH never ceases to fuel the discussions.

After openly suggesting on Wednesday that the number of players on the floor among the Canadians was “something unacceptable”our informant Renaud Lavoie revealed, Thursday evening at “JiC”, the results of a study which really does not benefit the Montreal organization.

“Wake Forest School of Medicine did this research spanning 13 years. The study covers the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL and discusses the number of injuries by league, each season.

“The project managers went there with an exercise calculating how many players, per 100 athletes, were injured during a campaign. The results don’t lie: the NBA leads the rankings with an average of 72.9 injured players out of 100. The NHL comes third with 38.8.

Renaud then chained.

“What that means for the National Hockey League is that on average, over the course of a season, you have 12 players per team who miss at least one game due to injury. Among the Canadians, we are already at 14 this year. Last year, it was 24. 24 out of 32!”
