The TBW judo department was able to hold the traditional city championship again for the first time after the corona restrictions. Numerous judoka, parents and spectators came to the exciting fights.

The first to start were the dwarfs in a sumo wrestling competition. With a lot of fun and full of vigour, the youngest ones were more involved. They pushed and pushed their opponents off the soft floor mat until the winner was determined.

The larger judoka fought in weight classes. In free-for-all mode, the winner was determined. The young judoka and athletes showed a good technical level, a lot of courage and willingness to fight. Department head Roland Thömmes and his team of coaches were delighted with the performance shown by their members.

As part of the award ceremony, some of the successes of the judo department were reflected on again. Of particular note is Sophie Püchel’s title at the general German university championships, which secured her ticket to the European university championships next year.

Maurice Püchel with a strong 5th place at the German championship and Konstantin Distel, the winner of the national competition for U15s, attracted attention with numerous placings at national and international level. Many other fighters successfully represented the TBW in national and international competitions this year. Now it is important to calm down a bit in the coming days in order to then attack again in the coming year.

City champions this year were: Joshua Korste, Alexandra Danowski, Frieda Schneider, Noah Korste, Joel Feuersänger, Rocko Feuersänger, Maxim Zwinger, Benaja Feuersänger and Konstantin Distel.
