World Cup 2022: Cristiano Ronaldo – future decision made | Sports

So he’s staying!

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo (37) apparently does NOT end his career in the national team after the bitter World Cup! This is reported by “Correio da Manhã”.

The Portuguese newspaper does not give any further details or sources. Accordingly, Ronaldo does not make his decision dependent on who will coach the national team in the future.

Duel against Morocco foreseen! Crazy Mbappé video surfaced

The current coach Fernando Santos (68), with whom Portugal won the European Championship title in 2016, is said to be on the verge of being eliminated.

At the World Cup in Qatar, Santos demoted his captain Ronaldo after disappointing performances in the preliminary round and banished him to the bench. It was still not enough to make it into the semi-finals, Portugal lost in the quarter-finals to Morocco (0:1).

But this departure does not seem to mean the end of Ronaldo’s world career on the big international stage!

With 196 caps, CR7 is Portugal’s record capper and also record goalscorer with 118 goals.

At the EM 2024 in Germany he would be 39 years old!

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has already ticked off his dream of a world title. At the 2026 tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico, he would be 41 years old…
