Wilmer de Jesús shone with his own light in the Minors

The level shown by the Venezuelan pitcher Wilmer de Jesús Flores throughout the 2022 campaign in the Minor Leagues left the leaders of the Detroit Tigers more than pleased given his notable rise from Class A+ to finishing in Double A with the Erie SeaWolves and this allowed him to be designated yesterday by this Michigan state organization as the Pitcher of the Year, thanks to his solid numbers from the mound.

Flores, who in this season in both branches of the feline club left an overall mark of 7-4 with a 2.79 ERA in 25 games played and 103.1 innings of work where he allowed 41 runs (32 were earned), 23 walks and fanned 130 batters.

The native of Valencia (Carabobo) and third best prospect for the Tigers received various awards during his time in the Minors in this 2022 as the Detroit Pitcher of the Year by Baseball America and also participated in the MLB Future Stars Game in Los Angeles that took place last July.
