Jannik Sinner competes in two competitions in Paris

Jannik Sinner will compete in (at least) two competitions at the 2024 Olympic Games. As the Italian Tennis Federation announced on Friday, the world number one will compete in both the singles and doubles competitions.

Sinner will be chasing a medal in pair skating alongside Lorenzo Musetti. The 22-year-old was originally supposed to form a duo with Lorenzo Sonego, but the Turin native was unable to qualify for the major event. Alongside Sinner/Musetti, Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli will be chasing medals for Italy in the doubles.

In the singles, alongside Sinner and Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi and Luciano Darderi will also try their luck. The reigning Australian Open champion, who recently lost in the semifinals of the French Open to eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz in five sets, naturally has the best chance of winning a medal. The Olympic Games will also be held at the Roland Garros venue.

It is still unclear who will compete for Italy in the mixed doubles competition. It seems unlikely that Sinner will compete in this competition as well. The Olympic tennis tournament will take place on clay from July 27 to August 4.
