Sara Villasante from San Sebastian and Frenchman Pierre Urruty were yesterday the winners of the Super Amara Gabonetako Krosa in Irun. 497 runners reached the finish line. Villasante prevailed with complete authority, completing the course of approximately five kilometers in 17:04. Betty Urruty and Ane Zabala completed the podium. Urruty, for her part, beat Unai Arroyo with the same time (14:47). “I have tried a couple of changes, but no luck”, admitted Arroyo, who today will start as a favorite in the Eibar Cross, which is in turn the Gipuzkoa Championship of the specialty. Aitor Etxeberria was third. On the other hand, today the Euskadi Half Marathon Championship is being held in Vitoria, with Nerea Egia from San Sebastian as the favourite.
