Manaus – This weekend, Saturday (26) and Sunday (27), the Manaus Olympic Village will be the stage for the Amazon Flag Football Championship. The competition starts at 7 am and aims to prepare the participating teams for competitions at the national level.
“It is extremely important that we encourage championships that are capable of taking our athletes to national competitions. In each flag football competition we see the high level that the athletes are conquering”, says Jorge Oliveira, director-president of Faar.
Supported by the Brazilian Confederation of American Football (CBFA), with the support of the American Football Federation of Amazonas (Fefaam), the championship will bring together nine teams, in the female and male categories. Among the teams are Walkyrias, Cavaliers, Black Hawks, Manaus, to name a few.
“It is a very important championship because it marks the consolidation of the modality in the state. This year we had expressive results, and certainly the Amazonian championship will be another way to expand this modality”, highlighted Carlos Vale, president of Fefaam.
Handball
The Vila Olímpica de Manaus also hosts the 2022 Amazon Cadet Handball Championship on Saturday (26th). The event has 13 teams divided into groups A and B, in male and female suits. The competition is organized by the Amazonas Handball League (Liham) and serves as a state ranking for the teams.
Fitness
On Saturday, at 8 am, the Olympic Village will be the stage for the Verônica Martins Artistic Gymnastics State Cup. The tournament aims to qualify to increase the index of athletes in the ranking of the modality. The disputes will be in the categories Pre-Children, Children, Juvenile and Adults.
Football
In the Arena da Amazônia Vivaldo Lima, on Saturday, at 8 am, the third round of the Amazonense Sub-11 Championship will take place. The first game takes place between Pica Pau SC and Santos Manaus, followed by Rio Negro and CD Librade. At 9 am, the disputes will be between Manaus Esporte em Cristo and Nacional and, closing the duels, the Avengers team will face Inter Academy.
Also on Saturday, at 8 am, at Carlos Zamith Stadium, the ball rolls for the third round of the Under-13 Amazonense Championship, the Avengers team faces Instituto São José and, following, at 9:30 am, the América de Manacapuru team faces Santos Manaus .
