You can call it the Women’s National Team, but the guys really call it the nickname, the “Onças”. THE Women’s Flag Football Team of Brazil made history and conquered the First South American Championship of the sport, which took place in Itapecerica da Serra, São Paulo.
The girls had an incredible campaign in the South American Championship. Four games and four wins, the best attack and the best defense of the tournament (189 points scored and only 12 points conceded).
The biggest rout of the “Onças” in the competition was in the first game. The debut was against the Chilean national team and a victory by a very elastic score, 54 to 0. The second match was against the same opponent of the final, Colombia, and only Brazil, 49 to 0.
The Argentines had the misfortune of facing the Brazilian team, and the girls were very inspired by this South American. The Hermanas “suffered a little less” compared to the first two clashes, 42 to 0.
The big decision was with the Colombians. But the victory was not as easy as the first. In a very disputed game, our selection suffered the first points in the competition. The score was very tight, a difference of 22 points, 34 to 12 for Brazil.
Spoiler alert: the video is exciting, it shows the final stretch of the game and the celebration of the Women’s National Flag Football Team in Brazil. Players and coaching staff celebrated the title a lot.
