“VEF Rīga” basketball players take revenge on “Liepāja” for the loss experienced at the beginning of the season

For Liepāja, Kārlis Šiliņš scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Richard Daniel Vanag, Dāvi Gek and Ojārs Bērziņas had 13 points each. Renārs Birkāns assisted in eight accurate shots.

“VEF Rīga” with 14 victories in 17 games takes the second place in the tournament table, conceding only to the Ukrainian team “Prometey” of Slobožansk, while “Liepāja” ranks 12th in the 16-team competition with a record of 6-11.

Riga players have won 11 matches in a row and experienced their last failure at the end of October, when they recognized the superiority of the “Kalev”/”Cramo” team from Tallinn with 66:78. Meanwhile, in the last five matches, the Liepāja team won two games, but in the last game they lost 69:71 to Rapla’s Avis Utilitas.

The two teams met in the first match of the season, in which “Liepāja” unexpectedly won 98:93.
