The first sample of this pact, which will leave an economic return of 500,000 euros, will start from December 13 to 18 with the Jr. NBA European Finals.
The Valencia City Council, Valencia Basket and the NBA have reached an agreement to position the city as the epicenter of international basketball through the recruitment of new talent. The alliance of this project, which will start with the Jr. NBA European Finals, will have an estimated economic return of 500,000 euros, in addition to the sporting impact that it will have for Valencia and the remodeling of a basketball court open to citizens.
The Councilor for Sports of the Valencia City Council, Javier Mateohas highlighted the relevance that this agreement will have in the future: “With this three-way agreement between the Valencia City Council, Valencia Basket and the NBA, we position our city as the epicenter of international basketball and the recruitment of young talent in this sport”.

The first sample of this agreement will take place on December 13-18 with the first Jr. NBA European Finals which will be held in l’Basket farmhouse. This event will be attended by six men’s teams and six women’s teams in the under-14 category, who will be chosen by the NBA itself based on their talent and will come from countries like England, France or Italy, among other parts of the world.
“In addition to the tournament itself, the project contemplates a complete program of actions aimed at reinforcing the international projection of Valencia thanks to entering the powerful global network of the NBA both in social networks and in events and content worldwide, and we will have the presence of historical NBA legends in our city to participate in different actions, the organization of clinics and different events with a marked social component”, Mateo pointed out.
To accompany this competition there will be the visit of two NBA legends to hospitals or health centers in the city, as well as to schools in the city, two appearances by NBA legends in activities related to the Valencia City Council, two clinics organized by the NBA for players from the city, the remodeling of a basketball court open to citizens and the presence of the Larry O’Brien NBA trophy in Valencia City Hall.
