The twins Duda and Luíza Calazans will live another experience together. The athletes remain at Fluminense for the 2023 season and join the adult women’s soccer team. Duda is an attacking midfielder, but has played in other positions. Luíza started playing on the side and ended up becoming a defender. In 2021, the girls participated in the cast that culminated in winning the first Tricolor women’s football title.

Maria Eduarda Calazans and Maria Luíza Calazans started playing soccer when they were just 4 years old, in a square close to their home, in Cordovil, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, where they grew up. They were always in the company of their father, Alexandre de Faria, the girls’ encourager and first coach. Duda celebrated another important step in his career alongside his sister.

“It is a unique opportunity for us, who arrived at the club at the age of 13. Today at 17, we see that everything is paying off. This is another important step in our career, and we thank Fluminense for their trust”.

Defender Luíza spoke about the special moment and pointed out the objectives of the team.

“We will continue to dedicate ourselves a lot so that we can win all the titles we want and the dreamed access to the A1 Series”, he concluded.
