The Councilor for Equality and Social Services, Ana Belén Abellán, has attended this Saturday one of the three workshops that have been held at the facilities of the CEI Basketball Club in the capital focused on the promotion of equality and the prevention of violence against women. gender in sport, an area in which there continue to be important conditioning factors linked to gender that facilitate or hinder its regular practice.
This proposal, aimed at federated players, family members and club coaches, has served to make visible and question the most common gender stereotypes in sport and to identify some unacceptable attitudes and practices in these environments.
These workshops culminate the activities of the second quarter of the year of the Toledo School of Equality promoted by the City Council to raise awareness and sensitize around gender violence, denounce its existence and stop, especially from the earliest ages, that it continues to proliferate .
