The women’s basketball club of Tokyo Health Care University (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Tetsuo Tamura, President: Shuji Kameyama, hereinafter referred to as this university) operated by the educational corporation Aoba Gakuen will be held on December 11, 2022 (Sunday). In the women’s final of the “74th All Japan University Basketball Championship” (hereinafter referred to as “intercollegiate”) held at Yoyogi Stadium No. 2 Gymnasium, defeated Shirao University 77-52, 6th consecutive year and 6th time. Won a national championship.

The university’s women’s basketball team, which was founded in 2006, has a new head coach, Tetsuro Hidaka, who was appointed as head coach of the Japan Women’s National Team in April of this year, replacing Onzuka. With a new team, the team won the 56th Kanto University Women’s Basketball Championship for the second time in a row and won the championship for the 4th time overall.

In the semi-finals of the tournament, they beat Tsukuba University 104-59, and in the finals, where they were on the verge of winning their sixth straight title, they faced Hakuo University, scoring points led by fourth-year players Joshua Fonobotemitope and Karin Imori. As a result, they won by 25 points, 77-52.

This was the first intercollegiate tournament led by manager Tetsuro Hidaka, and the team worked together to take on the challenge of winning the intercollegiate championship. It was a result suitable for starting out as the head coach of the new university women’s basketball team.

I am very happy to have won 6 straight titles. No, rather, the truth is that I am relieved.
I told the students not to forget the team’s slogan, “Exciting Mind,” and to play single-mindedly, honestly, and lively. I gave it to you. After the game, I received many phone calls and emails from people telling me that they gave me energy and courage.
After the closing ceremony, there was a friendly exchange between the students. We are able to do this because we are not enemies, but rather rivals. I think that’s what it means to be a student-athlete.
The Empress’s Cup quarter-final match is coming up soon. I believe that you will do your best.

Thank you for all your support and support!
Thanks to everyone’s support and support, we were able to grab the result of being number one in Japan.
At the beginning of this season, we started with the goal of “changing the world with smiles and excitement”. We were able to achieve this goal because we were able to receive feedback from many people throughout the season, such as “I was encouraged”, “I was moved”, and “I thought I should do my best”. I think.
I think that each person will learn differently after achieving this goal, but I would like to do my best to connect that learning to the future.
Thank you so much for all your support over the year!

Thank you very much for your support. After four years of many experiences, I have reached this moment. You create your future by the decisions you make now. Despite the injuries and other mishaps we had as a team, I am happy that we were able to stand as number one in Japan. I am so grateful for the growth I have been able to achieve as an individual and as a team. Thank you to our coaching staff, instructors, teammates, and everyone who has contributed to our continued success. I really love this team and I’m sure that the juniors will be proud of us and take over the culture of medical basketball. As a professional player, I would like to do my best from now on. Thank you for all your support over the past 4 years!
