The Potosina Tennis Association is renewed – El Sol de San Luis

The new president of the Board of Directors of the Potosina Tennis Association (APT), Olga Lidia Contreras Martínez, will have great challenges for 2023 such as mini-tennis, children’s-youth, masters, wheelchair, professional, amateur and interclubes, events of great relevance for the entity from San Luis Potosí.

Another of Olga Contreras’ objectives is to establish strategies for the professionalization of coaches through face-to-face courses taught by the International Tennis Federation, in addition to programming virtual training activities.

The Board of Directors of the APT was elected for the remainder of 2022 and until 2026 in that period it will be sought that all sports clubs, which are affiliated, obtain all the certifications granted by the Mexican and International Tennis Federations, and that parents and member players also participate in various workshops.

Promoting state tournaments within the state, disseminating through social networks the achievements that member tennis players are obtaining, as well as the different programs that the academies are reaching, will be other of its activities.

After the swearing-in that was presided over by the legal representative of the Mexican Tennis Federation, Enrique Flores Fernández and that was carried out in the Princes Hall of the Lomas Racquet Club, the recently elected president indicated that among her first actions are increasing the number of children’s, youth and adult tournaments, as well as competition and professional ones, this with the purpose of strengthening social tennis among young people and adults that make up the APT.

Olga Lidia Contreras also stated that during her four years in office they will establish collaboration agreements with sponsors that allow their players to receive the essential support so that they can represent San Luis Potosí in national and international tournaments and competitions.

Regarding the administrative issues of the Association, the newly appointed board of directors specified that they will seek to update the local statutes so that they align with those that govern the FMT, in addition to seeking to hold frequent board meetings.

It is also sought that the association can issue tax-deductible receipts. It will be another of the immediate goals of the recently elected APT board, to systematize the information received by the software they manage so that all the information generated by their tennis players is recorded and that it is in turn registered in the World Tennis Number and the Mexican Tennis Federation, especially considering that the WTN provides a global standard for each player regardless of age, gender or ability, which will allow local tennis players to have registered world numbers within the ITF either for their participation individually or in doubles.

For the president of the APT, Olga Lidia Contreras Martínez, it will establish the dissemination of transparency indicators such as financial reports, the agreements signed by the organization and the report of the Sponsorship Committee, in order to maintain transparency permanently.
