The players stand up, César Aneas does not direct and Tenerife sinks

If Tenerife’s last season ended in decline, the appearance of this new campaign looks even worse. And it is that the island team could only stay in the highest category of Spanish women’s basketball by buying a place, but after just 12 days of the new campaign the problems continue to accumulate. The players are not getting paid, the team has won only one match and César Aneas, who replaced Claudio García on the bench, has decided to leave the club after defaulting.

Since the beginning of the season, events have not stopped happening.

-Cutting power forward G’mrice Davis
-Dismissal of Claudio García (this already happened in 21-22, but it appeared again several days later)
-Tijana Krivacevic refuses to play against Araski
-Goodbye by Tijana Krivacevic
-Kai James, starting center refuses to play against Bembibre
-Kai James posts on Instagram: “In less than three weeks we have lost a physiotherapist, a physical trainer and the starting point guard. All of them have decided to leave the team».
-Goodbye by Gaby Ocete
-Andjela Delic and Terezia Palenikova refuse to play against Valencia Basket
-César Aneas does not direct the match against Valencia Basket (without previous/subsequent communication from the club) and Raquel Álvarez takes over (photo)

After the match against Valencia Basket (65-98 for the taronja), this was the club’s statement:

“Tenerife Clarinos informs that, in the Endesa Women’s League match played on December 17 against Valencia Basketball, the first team players Andjela Delic and Terezia Palenikova decided to take advantage of their right not to play said match, due to to a delay produced in the payment of their tokens.

The Tenerife club understands and respects the decision of the players and is currently working hard to solve this situation, which affects members of the club’s first team, with the aim of correcting it as soon as possible and focusing on reversing the current sporting situation»
