Great victory for Guuk GBC based on a 13 of 26 from the triple and a sensational defense, where Oroz and Jaworski sign a great game

The entire orchestra receives a standing ovation from the audience, but attention always falls on the conductor and the soloist. In the Guuk GBC code we talk about Xabi Oroz and Justin Jaworski. Only they do not win, far from it. It all adds up. Without the board of Encinas, the arms of Delas, the inspiration of Motos, the class of Sollazzo, the biceps of Jakstas or the aim of Ander, the San Sebastian team would not have been able to win. However, it is necessary to underline the great game of the captain, who went to 14 points (four triples), five rebounds and seven assists. More so when Aitor Zubizarreta’s loss due to pharyngitis left him as the only point guard, although there were minutes for Iñigo de la Hera. And Jaworski, who finished the game in executor mode. Unstoppable for the Coruña defense that could only stop him with fouls. And you already know that from 4.60 the ‘shark’ is infallible. He finished with 24 goals, leaving a fantastic feeling. Gamer.

Third time was the charm for Guuk GBC. They lost their two games this week and won the third against one of the opposing teams to be in the playoffs, so the victory should be considered remarkable.

Also on the third round, Encinas’ ship took off, after the game started like the horse that comes out of boxes, runaway, with a 0-8 and two triples. The matter was equalizing under the command of Filipovic, who made the Galician side play but the aim from outside the GBC -five three-pointers out of six attempts- left him ahead in the light. Two of those triples carried Oroz’s signature.

The next rush for the Gipuzkoans was at the start of the second quarter with a triple by Carlson and two baskets by Sollazzo and Motos, 21-30 (min. 13). And not only did A Coruña react, this time led by Alex Font, but Epifanio’s men took the lead 34-31 (min.18) after a three-pointer from Jakovics. Maybe keeping a cool head at that moment meant the ultimate triumph. Sollazzo hit a basket to get within one, and then Jakstas and a three-pointer from Jaworski returned Gipuzkoa Basket to the lead at halftime, 36-39.

To the third time, the charm

The triple and the defense had put the music for the GBC in the first part and the baton and the soloist reappeared. Three starting triples for Oroz, Jaworski and Ander Martínez put the maximum, 36-48, which would increase minutes later with the captain obtaining his fourth three-point basket, another from Mikel Motos and a great Delas giving balance from the paint, 43- 58 (min. 26).

Encinas gave Oroz minutes of rest, knowing that he was going to be needed at the end and Coruña spent their last cartridge to get closer, 56-62 (min. 32). The technician from Amarata asked for time and threw his shark into the water. Jaworski gave a recital. He missed putting on Angus Young’s Gibson SG guitar. He had 13 points, with 3-pointers, free throws without a miss, 5-meter baskets and a layup. Indefensible. He did not give Coruña a chance and the orchestra retired to the changing rooms after offering an impeccable concert. Do not stop the Music.
