Without an ID, no entry for Federer

“It was two weeks ago. I flew to London to get a second opinion on my knee from a doctor. That’s still not quite okay. In any case, I didn’t want to tell anyone in advance at Wimbledon that I might come over because I didn’t know if I would have the time,” said Federer.

In the end he decided to have a cup of tea at what is probably the most famous tennis club in the world. At least that’s the plan.

Because when Federer arrived at Wimbledon, he was denied entry by a woman from the security service. The reason: Federer did not have his membership card, which every Wimbledon winner automatically receives, with him.

Together with his former coach Severin Lüthi, Federer then drove to another entrance, where the two should ultimately have more success.

The 41-year-old was let in and then drank the desired cup of tea with the club president.
