Solidarity, family and table tennis in the VI Edition of the Solidarity Christmas Tournament, organized by Hujase JAÉN, with the collaboration of the Fundación Caja Rural and the Sports Board of the City of Jaén.
35 players and 18 teams gathered at the Antonio Maza de Jaén table tennis room. The tournament, which was a complete success, brought together a large number of family members, who enjoyed Table Tennis throughout the day, both in individual and family competitions.
The tournament also made it possible to demonstrate the generosity and solidarity of all the attendees, players and family members, who entered the Tournament Room, carrying cleaning, personal hygiene and food products, for the benefit of the Santa Clara Soup Kitchen.
A waste of energy, encouragement and ambition transmitted by the young paddlers, promises and realities of table tennis from Jaen and Andalusia with a luxury podium. Álvaro Balsera from CTM Vegas del Genil, won the gold; Samuel Valsera (CDTM Hujase JAÉN) got the silver and Manuel Castillo (Independiente) and Martina Tena (CDTM Hujase JAÉN) competed for third and fourth place,
The senior category was very close with the participation of players from regional and national leagues, who despite the friendly nature of the Tournament, recorded their professionalism and good work. At the top of the podium the Andujar player Julián Zhen (SAFA Andújar); Julieta Lalli (CDTM Hujase JAÉN) and Alejandra Alejo (CDTM Hujase JAÉN), took second and third place; Carlos Ramirez (SAFA Andújar) was the fourth classified.
A little over a thousand euros is the amount, which Hujase JAÉN estimates is the amount that the collection of cleaning, personal hygiene and food products for the Solidarity Basket of the Tournament has entailed.
All these products were delivered by volunteers from the club and by Alimentación Cerezo staff, to the Santa Clara Dining Room, on December 20.
