Softball is reborn in Settimo Torinese. | Baseball Mania

Deliberated by the Board during the end-of-year meeting, the objective is to present a U13 youth team at the 2023 Piedmont Softball Championship. Selections are underway to expand the team.

The women’s sports offer in Settimo Torinese is enriched, the company’s board approved the birth of the softball team starting from the 2023 season in the last assembly of the year.

“Believe in Settimo will be the claim of the BC Settimo next season, we believe in the growth path undertaken in 2020, which will now see the birth of the Settimo women’s team, but to do this we need the contribution of all the stakeholders in the area to to grow this project: we need the support of the Municipality, of new sponsors who want to tie themselves to women’s sport, but also of the schools to spread this sport in families” comments Silvio Brovero, communication manager of the seventh-month club.

“A sports project that was born around a group of young athletes who demonstrated last year in U12 that they deserve a softball team” Ernesto Wong Sporting director of the Settimo adds that the project will have to be nurtured “However, we need other athletes to build a good group with which to face the 2023 competitive season, the invitation is to parents to let your daughters try a beautiful sport, come to our tryouts in the gym starting from January 2023”.

The softball project was entrusted by the board to Stella Compagnone, former Tempest Settimo player, who still treads the diamond with the “aunts” amateur softball team and who recently successfully participated in the federal softball technical course “We celebrated two months ago , with the Xel mural, the glorious past of softball in Settimo, with the Tempests and Settimo softball, now it’s time to bring this sport back to our territory. We have already started softball training for a few weeks at the Rodari gym in Settimo on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18 to 20; we count on a fierce group of girls who are looking for playmates to grow up, play and have fun together. My desire? that these young girls, through softball, can grow together through the experiences that only a discipline like softball can give” Stella continues in the appeal “the group currently has about ten athletes, but we need to expand the team, we will leave with a promotion campaign in the schools of the Settimo and Northern Turin area and hinterland;

Registration is open on the site www.bcsettimo.com/provaa month’s trial in the gym and from March we’ll be back on the diamond, we’re looking for athletes from 7 to 13 years old who want to be part of this project.

We believe in it! but it doesn’t end here, 2023 will be of growth for the whole of society, we have a rapidly growing number of practitioners; the state of health of a company is assessed by the youth team and our minibaseball and U12 have exceeded pre-covid levels. Softball will be the big news in 2023, but not only that, with the warm season amateur baseball will start and for the differently abled and then obviously there is SERIE A to carry on.

We are ambitious and launch a challenge to the whole territory: we want our playing field to be so used that we need to have a second one, dedicated to softball and amateurs. The spaces are there and we have prepared a preliminary project. It is not a dream but planning, we are convinced that it can become an attractive pole with economic repercussions for the whole territory”.

The softball team will be officially presented in the spring, before the start of the championships, will have its own name (currently TOP SECRET) and its own identity linked to the family feeling of the Settimo Baseball Club; Settimo softball will best represent the city, the colors and the passion of this flame that we lit last year with the new image of the club.
