‘Ajax can exchange Georges Mikautadze for Dutch attacker’

AS Monaco wants to loose Georges Mikautadze from Ajax, reports journalist Jurriaan van Wessem, who follows French football closely. The Monegasques see the loaned Ajax player as a suitable successor to Wissam Ben Yedder, whose contract will not be extended. Les Rouges et Blancs would be willing to use Myron Boadu, among others, as a bargaining chip.
Ajax will keep Mikautadze at FC Metz until the end of this season, which can permanently acquire the 23-year-old attacker for around 10 million euros. According to Van Wessem, the final score of the Ligue 1 can have a great influence on the future of Mikautadze, who is still with Ajax until mid-2028.

“In the event of a relegation, Metz will quickly run out of money to make the first investment. Monaco can then help,” said Van Wessem. Metz is currently in sixteenth place in France and is heading for the play-offs for relegation.
In any case, Mikautadze does not seem to be returning to Ajax, as several French clubs are eager to finally rid him of the Amsterdam record champion. Ouest-France knows that Stade Rennes also has Mikautade on the radar as a summer reinforcement.
However, Stade Rennes has less to spend than AS Monaco, as Azor Matusiwa’s club will not be active in Europe next season. AS Monaco will participate in the Champions League as number two in France and therefore has enough resources to attract Mikautadze.
According to Van Wessem, AS Monaco hopes to reduce the price somewhat by using Amsterdammer Boadu as a means of exchange. The single international of the Dutch team has no future in Monaco, where he is still contracted until mid-2026. Since the beginning of February, Boadu has been playing on a rental basis for Twente, where he is not a starter.
The 23-year-old Boadu has played 292 minutes so far on behalf of the Tukkers, in which he scored three times. The lightning-fast striker must tolerate 35-year-old Ricky van Wolfswinkel in Enschede. Whether Ajax is interested in Boadu’s arrival is currently unknown.
