Ski Jumping. PK in Vikersund: Raimund wins, Habdas fourth

Philipp Raimund triumphed in Sunday’s Continental Cup competition in Vikersund (HS117). The German representative won with jumps of 114 m and 113 m. Jan Habdas was fourth. Five Poles scored cup points.

Philipp Raimund was in the lead after the first round. The representative of Germany landed on 114 meters and at the halfway point of the competition he overtook three Norwegians – Benjamin Oestvold (113 m), Sondre Ringen (111.5 m) and Fredrik Villumstad (113 m). Fifth place was taken by Jan Habdas (118 m), who was 3.7 points behind the podium.

Clemens Aigner (116 m), Clemens Leitner (107.5 m), Anders Fannemel (113.5 m) and David Siegel (113 m) followed. The top ten of the round was closed by Zak Mogel (111.5 m).

Four more Poles advanced to the finals. Andrzej Stękała, after jumping on 107 meters, was on the twentieth position, just ahead of Stefan Hula (110 m). The 23rd was Klemens Muranka (109 m), and the 27th was Maciej Kot (109.5 m).

Klemens Joniak after a jump of 102.5 meters was classified in the thirty-fourth position. Fifty-fourth place was taken by Jarosław Krzak (97.5 m).

The first competition series was held from the 3rd and 2nd starting bar.

In the final, Philipp Raimund landed on 113 m and triumphed with a lead of 4.2 points over Sondre Ringen (117.5 m). Benjamin Oestvold (114 m) stood on the lowest step of the podium. Jan Habdas (115 m) took the best fourth place in his career, ahead of Clemens Aigner (114 m) and Clemens Leitner (115.5 m).

Fredrik Villumstad (109.5 m) finished seventh ahead of Anders Fannemel (113.5 m) and Zak Mogel (113 m). The top ten was closed by Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng (113 m).

Klemens Murańka, after a jump of 108.5 meters, took the twenty-second place. Andrzej Stękała (105 m) was 25th, Stefan Hula (104.5 m) was 27th, and Maciej Kot (100.5 m) was 30th.

The final was conducted from the 3rd starting platform. Philipp Raimund gave his attempt from the 2nd beam.

Sondre Ringen and Philipp Raimund are ex aequo leaders in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup (180 points each). Benjamin Oestvold (110 points) is third, Clemens Leitner (105 points) fourth, and Jan Habdas (86 points) fifth.

The next Continental Cup competition will be held in a week, on December 17-18 in Ruka (HS142).
