Line Kjærsfeldt and Mikkel Mikkelsen/Rikke Søby can win their second Grand Prix Circuit tournament this season.

The season’s fourth out of six Grand Prix Circuit tournaments takes place this weekend, with Lillerød Badminton Club as the organiser.

If you want to stop by, there is an opportunity to see several national team players in action. These are Line Kjærsfeldt (world number 21), Jeppe Bay and Lasse Mølhede (world number 34) as well as EC bronze winners Mikkel Mikkelsen and Rikke Søby (world number 33). All are first seeded in women’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles respectively.

Both Kjærsfeldt and Mikkelsen/Søby ran to victory at the Elite Grand Prix Circuit tournament in Skovshoved in October, and therefore together with Bay/Mølhede they must be considered favorites in the three categories in this weekend’s Elite Grand Prix tournament.

In men’s singles, Rasmus Messerschmidt is the top seed for the tournament. He was also in the final at the most recent Grand Prix tournament, which was held in Hillerød. Should Messerschmidt once again reach the final, according to the seedings, he may face Christian Faust Kjær, who won the U19 Danish championship this year and was also selected for UVM in October.

As for the women’s doubles series, Emilie Furbo and Trine Villadsen are the first seeds, while Sofie Røjkjær and Lærke Thomsen are the second seeds. If the two pairs are to reach the final, it probably requires victories over Iben Bergstein/Mette Werge and Maria Thaysen/Kathrine Vang Rasmussen, who are 3rd/4th. seeded in the women’s doubles series.

The first qualifying matches will take place on Friday at 4pm, while the last finals are expected to start at 3.15pm on Sunday.
