San Judas Tadeo School will celebrate children’s athletics

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Athletics Association of the National District and the San Judas Tadeo school celebrate this Saturday the 10th the XII Invitational for Children’s Athletics, in School Age and Higher.

Nearly 600 athletes corresponding to the children’s categories (10-11 and 12-13 years old), 14-16 and 16-17 (school age) and above will see action in the tournament that will take place throughout the day on the warm-up track of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

The information was provided by Rampon Valdez (San Juan), president of the National District Athletics Association.

He stated that medals and trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding athletes in each category.

In superior competition will be running, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 1,600, and 5000 flat meters, long jump and high jump, bullet impulse, discus throw, triple jump and pole vault.

Valdez said that in children there will be events in the long and high jump, impulse of the bullet, throwing the ball, 60 meters with 1,200m hurdles.

While at school age there will be competitions in 100, 200, 400 and 800 flat meters, long jump, high jump and bullet impulse, 4×400 relay.
Valdez thanked the support for the tournament offered by the State Economic Kitchens, Colegio San Judas Tadeo, Dominican Athletics Federation, Air Force of the Dominican Republic and the Social Plan of the Presidency.
