Littler wins European tournament in Graz

Luke Littler won the Austria Open in the Steiermark Hall in Premstätten near Graz on Sunday evening on the European tour of darts professionals. The only 17-year-old vice world champion once again proved his special position and left nothing to be desired in the final against Joe Cullen (ENG/PDC-16th) with an 8:4 victory.

While Cullen didn’t get up to speed throughout the game and stayed in the race for the 35,000 euro winner’s check with good finishes at the beginning, Littler pulled away irresistibly with consistently high scores. Only at the end did his average drop from 109 points per shot to 102.7.

It was the fourth tournament victory on the PDC tour this year for Littler, who also won three evenings in the Darts Premier League. In the first round in Graz, the new darts star defeated the Austrian Zoran Lerchbacher 6:2.
