Casper Ruud enjoyed a tour of South America with Rafael Nadal last November and had the opportunity to meet his idol on his most personal side. In an interview with Eurosport, the Norwegian commented on how the experience was and what the Spaniard does when he is not competing. “He’s great, but he’s kind of on a switch. He turns his personal side on and off. I’m not going to go into all the details or whatever, but he’s a lot of fun to be around. He’s not as serious and dedicated as he is on the court He likes to have fun. He dances a bit and enjoys a nice glass of wine for dinner. I don’t think he’ll mind me saying this, but he’s a fun guy. We had a lot of fun and he helped me through the Rafa Nadal Academy and It was fun to be very close to him. Of course, we were in the same hotels all the time and flying together, so we got to see him up close and it was fun. He’s a very laid-back guy,” Ruud commented.
