Eli and Peyton Manning’s nephew, Arch Manning, officially confirmed Wednesday that he will be lining up with the University of Texas Longhorns next year by signing the bottom of a deal with the team .

The 17-year-old quarterback was one of America’s most coveted college talents. Young Manning was ranked the second-highest prospect in the nation by ESPN. He had agreed to wear the colors of the University of Texas last June.

Manning continues the long family tradition. His father, Cooper, had been a catcher at Ole Miss University, while his uncle, Eli, and his grandfather, Archie, had also played for that university as quarterbacks. For his part, Peyton Manning had played for the University of Tennessee before becoming one of the most prolific passers in NFL history.

Arch Manning was a starter in his fourth year at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. He finished his stint with 8,599 passing yards, 115 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, in addition to adding 1,155 rushing yards and 25 majors. Arch also smashed the passing records that belonged to his uncles at this school.

Eli Manning held the record for passing yards with 7,268 yards, while Peyton threw for 93 touchdowns.
