Rakušanka Hauserová surprised the French women in the meat race, Davidová finished fourteenth – CT sport – Czech television

It could have been a golden point for Annecy, but the French couldn’t manage the last shot. When the Chevalier sisters arrived at the stadium, it was to be decided which one would enter the last circuit in the leading position. But both French racers, who had been 100% up to that point, both made a mistake once and suddenly the race got dramatically messed up.

The third Hauser did not hesitate, whitewashed all the targets and took a seven-second lead when leaving the stadium. Another domestic representative, Simonová, made her way between the sisters, but they could no longer catch up with the Austrian. On the contrary, Hauser’s lead increased to fifteen seconds and she could rejoice at the clear victory at the finish line.

How the race went

In contrast to the men’s race, the women’s meatball offered a significantly more dramatic spectacle. For example, right after the first item, one of the favorites, Italian Lisa Vittozzi, failed. On the contrary, both Davidová and Jessica Jislová shot accurately and both held on to 17th place.

The long train of female competitors broke away only after the second event. Elvira Öberg, the winner of Saturday’s fighter, took the lead, followed by Hauser and Chevalier-Bouchet. While Jislová shot a complete layup cleanly, Davidová fell to 19th place after two penalty circles and could practically forget about the fight for medals.

However, the Swede Öberg did not maintain her position, she made one mistake during the opening stand and lost the lead. Chevalierová-Bouchetová took the lead with a lead of seven seconds. The Czechs then got upset again because of one inaccuracy on the shooting range.

But in the end, as usual, only the last item decided. The French Chevalier sisters hesitated once, Hauser did not, and thanks to a great run, the Austrian outwashed them in the rest of the race. Simonová managed at least the second place, Jislová finally occupied the 24th place.
