“This morning, racist insults were discovered on the photos of athletes from the Rio Games, placed on the outside gates of Insep in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes. The public establishment, which immediately noted this outrage, strongly condemns these acts and will file a complaint with the police,” writes Insep. Among the vandalized photos, that of judoka Teddy Riner and athlete Dimitri Bascou.

“despicable acts”

“We will not lower our heads, we will not give way to hatred, cowardice and stupidity. Today I bring my friendly and unwavering support to those who are personally attacked”, responded in the press release on director general of Insep, Ghani Yalouz.

Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu called the acts “despicable and cowardly”. “The fight against racism must continue. Let’s not relax our vigilance. All my support to the athletes and to those who feel sullied by these revolting behaviors”, she wrote on Twitter.
