PSG, Verratti renews until 2026: ‘This is my second home’

Marco Verratti joins Paris Saint Germain for life. The Italian midfielder has renewed with the Parisian club until 2026, extending the previous contract expiry by two years. Verratti, therefore, will wear the PSG shirt up to the age of 34. An announcement arrived at the Parc des Princes, before the kick-off of the match against Strasbourg. “PSG and its president Nasser al-Khelaifi are happy to announce a Christmas gift, the extension until 2026 from Marco Verratti,” the speaker told the fans present at the stadium.

Verratti’s numbers

Arrived in Paris in 2012 from Pescara for 12 million euros, Verratti collected 399 appearances with the Paris Saint Germain shirt, second all-time in the club’s history behind Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 games played). A record that Verratti will be able to beat in the coming years. The blue midfielder won 29 trophies with Paris and is the most successful footballer in the club’s history.
