Preview Celtics – Bucks: duel of titans for 1st place in the East

It’s Christmas Day and that means XXL posters on all sides. Here, we focus on the clash of titans in the East between Celtics and Bucks (at 11 p.m.). The plan is simple: the winner will wake up leader of the Conference in the morning!

Jayson Tatum vs Giannis Antetokounmpo, a 5-star supporting cast around (Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Marcus Smart), two good coaches, a mythical room to bring together all these beautiful people. What more ? Boston vs. Milwaukee is probably the best in the East this season and it’s a shock worthy of a Conference Final. And who knows, maybe these two teams will meet again this year!

Over the last few seasons, Bucks and Celtics have had the habit of facing each other on several occasions in the Playoffs and this has always given undecided and spectacular matches. Champion in 2021, Milwaukee returned its crown last offseason following its defeat against… Boston. Since ? The two teams did not face each other and it is a match that therefore smells of revenge for the Daims. Small difference compared to the time, Khris Middleton will be this time in uniform. Even if he is not yet at 100%, the lieutenant of the Greek Freak could be important, especially on the defensive level in order to limit the impact of the Jay Brothers.

Some will want to prove that injuries have prevented them from returning to the top (Milwaukee), others have every intention of remaining the kings of the East (Boston), so it’s a fight for the hegemony of a Conference that decides, even if other pretenders obviously have their sights on the throne.

Speaking of thrones, the MVP’s may well have a new host in the spring. Two years in a row, Nikola Jokic has put his butt there, but the competition is only getting stronger to prevent the Joker from making the Three-Peat. Two candidates will also be present on the ground tonight. Monstrous since the start of the season, Giannis Antetokounmpo could recover a title he knows well since he has already won the award twice. For Jayson Tatum, it would be a great first but above all proof that he has definitely entered the league’s superstar court. We remind you that Boston has been waiting for an MVP since Larry Bird in… 1986!

We therefore hope for an intense duel, worthy of two rivals who find themselves in the ring after a long wait and it looks tight. Only one win in the standings. The last series of Playoffs? Completed in the seventh game. The balance sheet on a regular basis in 2022? 2-2 with each team remaining sovereign at home. What to consider a victory of the followers of the clover tonight?

Celtics-Bucks is undoubtedly the big shock of this Christmas Day and it’s simply unmissable for orange ball lovers that we are. Meet at 11 p.m. for the start of hostilities.
