Dprovocations that do not pass. After the announcement of a letter sent by Noël Le Graët, the president of the French Football Federation, to his Argentinian counterpart to complain about the “excesses” of the world champions during their celebrations, it is the turn of the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, to denounce the mockery of the Argentine players after the final won by the Albiceleste against France (3-3, 4 tab to 2), on the antenna of RTL, this Friday.
The behavior of some South American players during the festivities in Buenos Aires was not to the taste of the minister. “I find it pitiful. As much as our French team knew how to lose with panache, the way in which this Argentinian team acted following this victory is not worthy of the match that we saw. These are clearly inappropriate remarks, ”explained the member of the government, who had already noted “racist attacks” against Kingsley Coman, particularly among certain Argentine supporters at the stadium.
“Inelegant Winners”
“It’s just vulgar, out of place and really not up to par,” Amélie Oudéa-Castéra added, calling Lionel Messi’s teammates “inelegant winners”. The attitude of Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper, was particularly singled out by the minister, judging the player “pathetic”. During the parade, he was seen holding a baby doll whose face had been covered with a photo of Kylian Mbappé. In the wake of the final, he had already openly made fun of the French striker, author of three goals in the match, by singing in the locker room “A minute of silence… for Mbappé”, before being followed by his teammates.

In a video broadcast live on Instagram, former Albiceleste striker Sergio Agüero, who was in Qatar with the Argentine team, also called French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga a “bite head” (“cara de pinga”) in the wake of the final. “I have nothing against him and it’s a joke. […] he always joked with his name. Don’t look for trouble, ”he then justified on Twitter.
