Participate in the national doubles competition

After last year’s success, we have decided to continue with the doubles competition. It is a men’s doubles and a mixed doubles competition.

Why do you have to register?

It’s super fun and very affordable. This competition is suitable for beginners up to and including 6th division players of the Bondscompetition. Did you start badminton this year via Trybadminton.nu, for example, then you can enter level C well.

By participating in this national doubles competition you can play matches at a recreational level against someone other than your club mates. In addition (it is in the name) you only play doubles! The starting point is that the competition matches are played on the regular training/game evening, so that it does not take up any extra time in the already busy agenda.

For whom?

For badminton players who like doubles and would like to do this against other associations in a competition that takes little extra time, is flexible in design and involves a maximum of eight matches.

Format

The national doubles competitions consist of three matches per match. Teams can already be formed with a minimum of three players. The duration of the match is approximately one and a half hours. The groups consist of a maximum of five teams, with the aim of keeping the travel distance as short as possible. The greater the number of registrations in an area, the shorter the distance.

Competition Forms and Levels

There are two competition formats, each with three different levels. The two leagues are:

  1. Mixed doubles competition (1x MD and 2x GD) (2 men/1 women)
  2. Men’s doubles competition (3x MD)

The evaluation showed that some level differences were too great, so the levels are divided as follows this year:

A – 6/7th Division / Veer 2
B – 8/9e divisie / Nylon 1
C – Beginners / probeerbadminton.nu

When?

The competition starts from February 6, 2023 and ends no later than June 4, 2023. In this period you play eight matches, which amounts to one match every two weeks. School holidays are also taken into account in the planning.

Cost

For € 20 per team (minimum 3 people) you can participate in this competition. This amount is collected through the association.

Regulations

We have drawn up a number of rules that have been included in the Rules for the national doubles competitions. Look here for the playing key schedule.
