Judo: Nürtinger comes third in the DJB ranking list tournament and qualifies for the “Germans”.

With a strong performance, Valentin Hofgärtner from the Judo Club Nürtingen won a bronze medal at the ranking list tournament of the German Judo Federation (DJB) in Lünen. He thus qualified for the German men’s championships at the end of January 2023 in Stuttgart.

The man from Nürtingen had a bye in the first round with eleven participants in the class up to 60 kilograms. He then faced Rizvan Sadiqov (Stella Bevergern) who had won his first fight with a strong and aggressive hold fight. Undeterred by this, Hofgärtner put his opponent on the defensive from the start so much that he was disqualified after barely two minutes for three illegal actions. The man from Nürtingen went into the semifinals with great respect, as it turned out.

Here he met Hratschik Latschinian (JC Geisenheim), whom he had lost almost exactly a year ago in the final of the DJB ranking tournament in Munich. This time the Nürtingen not only kept up.
