Mexican badminton player secures spot in Paris 2024 Olympics

By positioning himself as number 67 in the world ranking of the men’s category, the Mexican Luis Ramon Garrido assured their classification at the Olympic Games Paris 2024after knowing the latest world list of its discipline.

Placed as the 29th athlete out of a total of 35 who will compete in the Olympic tournament in the French capital, Luis Ramon He became the second Mexican in history to participate in badminton in the Olympic tournament, joining Lino Muñoz who competed in the editions of Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

The 27-year-old player reached such a position in the world rankings with an average of 25,729 points, after carrying out a preparation that included various international events since 2023 and that also left him with a bronze medal in the past Santiago Pan American Games.

His last international event took place weeks ago at the Pan American Individual Championships. Guatemala in which the Mexican mathematically secured his classification after reaching the quarterfinals.
